PERSONNEL REQUISITION

POLICY


§  A Personnel Requisition system will be implemented and maintained to ensure the effective control and regulation of requests for additional and/or replacement personnel.

§  Completion of a Personnel Requisition Form is required for employment of all replacement personnel including full, part-time contract or casual employees, employed either on Company payroll or through external Agencies.


PROCEDURE

Ö The Department Head ensures that a Personnel Requisition Form is correctly completed. The Manager must signify his/her approval of the request before the requisition may be processed further.

Ö Once the Head Department grants approval, the requisition will be forwarded to the Human Resources where it is checked against the headcount budget and subjected to a final review before approval is obtained from the Director of Human Resources and the General Manager.

Ö It is necessary for the Head of Department to provide justification in writing for each and every replacement and/or additional employee.

Ö Recruitment of all employees should be processed by and through the HRD.

POLICY

The candidate provisionally selected may be employed under any of the following arrangements:
§  Trainee/Apprentice
§  Probation
§  Temporary (On Contract)
§  Daily Basis/Casual


PROCEDURE

Trainee/Apprentice

Ö A Trainee is employed on contract for a definite period (min. 3 months).
Ö The training contract is either renewed or cancelled, depending on the performance evaluation or business circumstances.
Ö A Trainee may be appointed as a Probationer for a regular vacancy.
Ö In case a Trainee is not appointed as a probationer, a Training Certificate is awarded to the Trainee concerned and the Trainee’s name and particulars are maintained in the Master Register for the Trainees for future references.
Ö As soon as a Trainee joins, he/she is provided with a Code Number, Name Tag and Attendance Card opened (to punch in and out), and a Meal Coupon is provided for a duty meal.
Ö Normally, Trainees are not provided with Uniforms and Lockers. But it varies from a case-by-case basis. In case a Trainee is provided with Uniforms, a locker is also allocated.
Ö Orientation program will be given to the Trainees as well as to other employees.
