POLICY


It is policy of XXXXX XXXX XXXXXto actively support the hotel industry by providing hands-on training opportunities for hotel students.


PROCEDURES

1.    Training Manager will request that Department Heads provide the number of industry trainees Departments can accept before determining the quotas for each period.
2.    Training Manager coordinates and administers all industrial training requests and activities between the hotel and hotel schools.
3.    Upon their successful completion of placement tests, industry trainees will be interviewed by Department Head concerned or representative and Training Manager.
4.    Successful candidates will be advised, through their school, of the area of training to be taken and the first sign-on day.
5.    Training Manager will arrange the requisition of uniforms, nametags, time cards, duty meals, etc.
6.    On their first day the trainees will report for duty to the HRD at a specified time for orientation.
7.    All costs associated with the industry training program must be allocated in the annual training budget.
8.    All industry trainees are responsible for their own relocation costs to and from the hotel.
9.    Attendance records must be maintained for all industrial trainees, which may be spot-checked from time to time by the HRD.
10. The Training Manager will meet monthly with individual trainee to discuss their training progress.

Progress Report


The Department Head concerned will evaluate the industry trainee’s performance at the completion of each section by completing the Training Evaluation Form - for Trainer.

The Department Head will send the completed form to the Training Manager for his/her follow up action.

At the end of each section, the industry trainee will submit a Training Evaluation Form - for Trainee to the Training Manager.  This form will be circulated to the HR Director no later than five working days after completion of the section.

At the completion of the industry training program, Department Heads should complete, sign and return to the Training Manager the Training Evaluation form sent by the school.

Training Manager will forward this form to the school concerned and keep a copy for file records.


Training Period


The planned duration of industry training programs is:
  • SMIP and Diploma I ¾ three months program
  • Diploma II, III and IV ¾ six months program.

The program is scheduled as follows:
                                               
          - Long term (6 months)                : July - December
                                                            January – June

- Short term (3 months)                : July - September
                                                            October - December
                                                            January - March
                                                            April - June
